SPORTS BUFF FANTASY FOOTBALL
Sports Buff ("Club") is a private club owned and operated by Sports Buff LLC ("SB"), P.O. Box 896, Kenosha, WI 53141-0896. Sports Buff Fantasy Football ("Contest") is a private contest for Members Only. Sports Buff LLC may work with other companies, web sites, bars, restaurants, individuals, etc. to co-promote the Contest. The company and its promotion partners are referred to as "Sponsor(s)."
All contestants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of their registration for the Contest and have public or private Internet access as of September 15, 2007. This is a game of skill. Winners are determined solely based on the objective Sports Buff Scoring System outlined in these official rules. Your registration, membership, and participation in the Sports Buff Fantasy Football contest constitutes your acknowledgement that you have read and understand the official rules and that you agree and accept those rules entirely.
Membership is purchased on a season-by-season basis, per team. For football, you pay a membership fee of $19.99 per team and your membership lasts for the duration of the contest. Each team requires a single membership fee.
Season Long Contest
To join and compete in the season long contest, you must join before the trading deadline for Week 2 (1 lowest weekly score is dropped). The Contest consists of 17 Contest weekly periods ("Contest Week 1", "Contest Week 2", etc., collectively "Contest Weeks").
Weekly Contest
Entries for the weekly contest can be added at anytime. They must be added before the trading deadline of one-half hour before game-time for each player to be eligible to score points that week. See prizes area below for prize details.
Sports Buff Fantasy FootballSM is a game of skill and the winner is named Mr. Fantasy Football. After becoming a Sports Buff Member, you may enter the site and draft a football team from the lists of available players. All or most eligible NFL players should be listed. If you find any player that you would like to add to the list, email coachb@sportsbuff.com with your request. Your team will consist of twelve (12) players and defenses. Your roster must consist of:

Your roster must not exceed the $525 salary cap. You must choose only from players and defenses listed. Players are only eligible at the position listed. Player positions will not change during the length of the contest.
The Contest runs 17 weeks beginning with the first scheduled regular season NFL games and ending with the last scheduled games of the NFL regular season. Any game played after December 30, 2007 does NOT count towards your weekly or season-to-date totals. The Sponsors reserve the right to adjust this schedule and notify all contestants.

Passing
Rushing/Receiving
Players DO receive credit for kick/punt return touchdowns, but NOT for kick/punt return yardage. Scoring is calculated based on TOTAL (NOT average) number of points each player earns in a week. If, for any reason, a player's game is postponed (due to weather, etc.) you will only receive points for that game if you have the player on your roster the day the game is officially completed.
Online Sports Buff dues for fantasy football are $19.99 per team.
All Members are eligible if their account is kept current by paying dues and transaction fees on time. If a credit card rejection occurs, customer's account will be updated and customer will have the opportunity to enter a new credit card next time they login. If dues are not paid within 30 days, the Club has the right to terminate your Membership and/or disqualify you from eligibility for prizes.
Contestants can attempt to form their own league using the "Join League With Friends" function. A maximum of 3 teams per person and 10 teams per family may be entered into the same league. Requests for exceptions may be sent to coachb@sportsbuff.com. Exceptions include requests to place two or more teams in different leagues. Please note that you must have the approval of all teams involved in the request for us to guarantee the request will be honored. A maximum of 10 teams per promo code (if applicable) are allowed in the same league. Sports Buff reserves the right to modify league formation if these rules are not followed. Sports Buff also reserves the right to verify that these league formation rules are being followed and to disqualify contestants, without refund or prizes, for violation.
Contestants may enter and trade via the phone. Each phone entry is $24.99 to process. The deadline for phone entries is Friday September 7 at Noon CT. As an alternative to phone entry, free access is available at your local library or university. Phone transactions may be made by calling 888-450-2730. All phone transactions are $2.50 or a maximum of $15 per week. The same deadlines apply for phone and Internet transactions. When trading via phone, clearly state your Name, Sports Buff ID, Password and your transactions. You must slowly name the player being dropped and the player being added in their place. The Sponsors reserve the right to reject any and all phone trades for any reason, including those that cannot be heard or that exceed the salary cap. Every effort will be made to process all phone trades.
Any of your 14 players/defenses may be traded online for $2 per transaction for 1 to 5 transactions. Weekly Transaction Fee Cap - you may trade 6 to 14 players each week for a maximum price of $12 per week. For example, you may trade 3 players for $6, 5 players for $10, 6 players for $12, 10 players for $12, or 14 players for $12. There is no need to purchase this option. The Sports Buff Fantasy Football system handles the weekly maximum fee option automatically when you make 6 or more trades per week. A player must be traded for another player at the same position. Players may be traded only if the total salary after the trades does not exceed your current salary cap. Attempts to make trades, which would result in roster salaries above the salary cap, will be rejected. During the season, player values may change based on performance (see Player Upgrades).
Players may be traded any day of the week up to the trading deadline of 10 minutes prior to kickoff for both players involved in the trade. Any eligible player not listed on the site may be added to contest via your request to coachb@sportsbuff.com. Send an email through the web site with name, team, and position and a ruling will be made on their eligibility and position. If the player is added, their salary value will be determined by management and they will be available within two business days of the request.
Coach B, our mascot, will select a team each week of the Contest. If you beat Coach B's score, you will receive one free transaction (valued at $2) for the following week or later in the season. For example, all contestants beating Coach B in Week 1 will receive a free trade to be used during Week 2 or later. No Coach B free trades will be awarded for beating Coach B in Week 17.
During the season, some players will "outperform" the salary assigned at the start of the season. If you have one or more of those players on your roster, we think you should be rewarded for finding that "diamond-in-the rough." Any time a player's salary is upgraded and you have that player on your roster, your salary cap will increase, giving you more spending power. Five times during the Contest - after weeks 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 - five (5) player (one per position) salaries and one (1) defense salary, will be increased $3, based on a secret Club formula (that we're sure you can figure out). Only players/defenses that are in the top 10 scorers (year to date) at their position will be eligible for a player raise. Players will not receive an upgrade if their team has a bye during the upgrade week. If a player with a bye qualifies for the upgrade, the upgrade will go to the next 'most outperforming' Top 10 player at that position. 'Top 10' players are all players ranked from 1 to 10 in season-to-date player rankings, including players tied for 10th.
The upgraded players will be announced online on the Tuesday following each week of player upgrades. If you have any player on your roster that receives an increase in salary, your team value will increase by $3 for each player upgraded (e.g., if your team value is $525 and after Week 3 you have 3 players on your roster that each receive a $3 upgrade, then from Week 4 forward, your team value is $534). Your team value, as well as individual player values, will never decrease. All player upgrades go into effect on Tuesday during the appropriate week. In order to receive credit for the player upgrade, you must have that player on your current roster at the time the raises are announced. For example, to take advantage of the player upgrades that occur after Week 3, you must have those players on your Week 3 roster by the trading deadline for that week.
Compete and win on many different levels. Each contestant competes on a minimum of three different levels - a League of up to 33 teams, a State, and Overall. Some co-marketers will have an additional Division Rank for their contestants.
On or about September 15th, 2007, the Sponsors will create a State ranking and designation for each contestant. The Sponsors will create State designations based on Zip Code. The address on your account must be your legal address in order to win any cash or merchandise prizes. If the Sponsors determine that the address was not your legal address during any part of the contest, you will be disqualified and waive all rights to any prizes.
A total of eight (8) finalists will advance to the Sports Buff Fantasy Football VIP Post-Season Event in Las Vegas. After the final week of competition, the eight (8) teams with the highest season-to-date scores (17 weekly scores minus 1 lowest weekly score), will advance to Las Vegas. The 8 finalists will be flown to Las Vegas, NV on or about 1/11/08 (could be earlier or later). All trips include air from a major US city (for one), hotel for 2 nights, and a party. Winners are responsible for all other expenses including applicable taxes, expenses for guests, and transportation to a major (top 30 airports in US) departure city. The 8 finalists must attend or send a proxy to draft in their place. If no proxy is named, the next highest finisher will replace the contestant that cannot attend, and all rights to Top 8 prizes will be forfeited. If a tie exists, the tie-breaking rules will be used.
Tie-Breaking Rules
POST-SEASON DRAFT
1. Highest end-of-season total score
Players are eligible at their defined position during the regular season. If players have not been added to the eligible roster by the deadline for Week 17, the finalists may request a position assignment for any additional player on or before January 10, 2008.
In case of a work stoppage - a strike or lock-out - Sports Buff Fantasy Football will not resume until the regular NFL players return (when the strike or lock-out ends). If play does not resume and less than 7 weeks of the regular season were completed, 50% of transaction fees will be refunded and no prizes will be awarded. Entry fees will not be refunded. If play does not resume and 7 or more weeks were completed, prizes will be awarded based on the number of weeks completed.
Prizes are not transferable, may not be substituted, and winners are responsible for all applicable taxes. By participating, you agree that the Sponsors may use your name and likeness for publicity without additional compensation. Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of entries and the skill used in choosing players and managing your team. The Sponsors are not responsible or liable for any damages for injury incurred by a contestant as a result of enrolling, competing, winning, or traveling to the playoff event.

All end-of-season prizes are guaranteed, regardless of the total number of Members joining the Contest before the deadline.
Note: all contestants will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility Form and Liability Release and Advertising Consent Form before being awarded the trip prizes and chance to compete for the Top 8 cash prizes. Refusal to sign and produce forms by January 6, 2008 may lead to forfeiture of the trip to Las Vegas and all rights to Top 8 cash prizes. If this situation occurs, the rights will transfer to the next highest placing team or teams.
Weekly Prizes
In the event of a tie, the Weekly winner for a particular Contest Week will be the contestant involved in the tie who earned the highest weekly point total in the Contest Week previous to the Contest Week that the tie occurred in, if any. For example, if two contestants are tied with the highest weekly point total for Contest Week 4, the contestant involved in the tie who earned more points in Contest Week 3 will be deemed the Weekly winner. If a tie still exists (or if there was no prior week), the tie will be broken through the administration of one or more trivia questions relating to professional football, to those who are still involved in the tie.
Prizes are not transferable, may not be substituted, and winners are responsible for all applicable taxes. By participating, you agree that the Sponsors may use your name and likeness for publicity without additional compensation. Chances of winning are dependent on the total number of entries and the skill used in choosing players and managing your team. The Sponsors are not responsible or liable for any damages for injury incurred by a contestant as a result of enrolling, competing, winning, or traveling to the playoff event.
The highest single weekly scores, obtained in any one single week throughout the 17-week season, qualify to earn the following cash prizes. All teams eligible for the regular season contest are eligible to compete and win the weekly prizes.

Fan League Football is our game within a game. It's simple and another way to win. Who's got the most talented fans? The talking is over… it's time to prove it!
When you register, you tell us your favorite team and we slot you into their "Fan Team" for a season long competition. You compete as a team against other fan teams across the league.
When Kansas City plays Miami, the KC fans will compete head-to-head against the Miami fans. When Buffalo has a bye, Buffalo fans have a bye. One league, two conferences, eight divisions, just like the real deal.
How does it work? The "starting team" for each Fan Team will be the top 11 fan scores that week. Using the KC-Miami example, we add up the starting team scores for each team and the highest score posts a victory for the week. We'll highlight the starting teams, show you who wins and loses, and update the Fan League Football standings after each week of the season.
Playoffs! After the first 12 weeks of the season, we'll go into the Fan League playoffs with 4 division winners and 2 wild card teams from each conference. Week 13 will feature the Wild Card games. Week 14 will feature the conference semi-finals. Week 15 will feature the conference championship games. And Week 16 will feature the Super Fan League Championship game.

Contest subject to these Official Rules. Any disputes must be submitted to the Sports Buff Advisory Board (P.O. Box 896, Kenosha, WI 53141-0896) in writing and the decision of the Advisory Board will be final. By participating, contestants agree: (i) to be bound by these complete Official Rules and the decisions of the Advisory Board, which shall be final and binding; and (ii) to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest and/or these Official Rules. All federal, state and local laws apply. All federal, state or other tax liabilities arising from this Contest, if any, will be the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsors reserve the right to use the Contest for publicity purposes, and to use the names, likenesses, prizes won and hometown names of winners for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law, and any such use with respect to minors to be subject to prior approval of parent or legal guardian. By entering, contestants acknowledge that Sponsors and their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotions agencies and their respective employees, officers, shareholders, directors and agents are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) late, lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible entries; (ii) telephone system, technical or computer malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections or transmission errors; (iii) data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of entry or other materials; (iv) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by the prize or resulting from acceptance, possession or usage of any prize or from participating in the Contest; (v) network or Internet malfunction or failure, including computer virus on the Internet or computer virus on any computer owned by the Member or related to the Contest; or (vi) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any material associated with the Contest. Sponsors disclaim any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with the Contest, and reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug, computer problem or other causes beyond Sponsors' control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. Sponsors may prohibit contestant from participating in the Contest or winning a prize if, in their sole discretion, they determine contestant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair practices or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other contestants or Sponsors representatives. Contest void where prohibited. Each contestant must supply a valid email address or Sponsors have right to disqualify the entry at any time without refund. Each contestant must be the rightful owner or have authorized use of the e-mail account associated with the valid e-mail address provided by contestant when applying for membership in Sports Buff. You must have residence in the U.S. or Canada, excluding Quebec, to compete.
The Sponsor has the right to disqualify any entry for the duration of the contest, based on any suspected cheating or fraud by any contestant. A maximum of 10 entries per person are allowed. NOTE - up to 33 entries paying full price can join a single league, with the limitation of 3 entries per league per person and 10 entries per league per family. In the unlikely scenario where two or more players, or two or more teams, tie for an upgrade… all players or teams that tie will be upgraded. A tie means the "secret" formula leads to an exact tie using all possible decimal points.

The post-season draft is tentatively scheduled for Friday, January 11, 2008 (date is subject to change). You will compete head-to-head to draft a post-season roster of 12 players. Draft order will be:

During the post-season draft, once a player is selected, they are exclusively "owned" by that contestant throughout the playoffs and Super Bowl. During the first 9 rounds, you will draft 1 Quarterback, 2 Running Backs, 3 Receivers, 1 Tight End, 1 Kicker, and 1 Defense. During the final 3 rounds, you may select players from any position. You accumulate points for all 12 players, based upon the Sports Buff Fantasy Football Scoring System and the players' performances in the divisional playoffs, conference championships and the Super Bowl (wild card games are not included). The regular season totals do not carry over for the post-season competition. The contestant with the highest cumulative total after the completion of the Super Bowl wins the Grand Prize and the Sports Buff Fantasy Football trophy. The 2nd through the 8th highest cumulative scores win the 2nd to 8th place prizes. In the event of a tie, a winner will be decided using criteria in this order: Playoff total for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers, and then defenses. If a tie still exists, the tie will be broken through the administration of one or more trivia questions relating to professional football, to those who are still involved in the tie.
