5. PLAYING THE GAME

Sports Buff's Playoff Fantasy Football Elimination Challenge is a game of skill. After paying for an entry and becoming a Member, the Member may enter the Stadium and draft a football team from the lists of players presented. All or most eligible NFL players should be listed. If you find any player that you would like to add to the list, email a Sports Buff Consultant with your request. Your roster will consist of nine (9) players / defense and you will select 1 Winning Team:

1 Quarterback
2 Running Backs
2 Wide Receivers
1 Tight End
1 Flex (RB, WR, or TE)
1 Kicker
1 Defense/Special Team
1 Winning Team

Your 9-player roster must not exceed the $330 salary cap. You must choose only from players and defenses listed. Players are only eligible at the position listed. Player positions and salaries will not change during the contest.

6. SPORTS BUFF SCORING SYSTEM

Scoring is based on the scoring system below:

Passing:
TD 40+ yards = 6 points
TD 0-39 yards = 3 points
Every 20 yards = 1 point
2 point conversion = 1 point

Rushing/Receiving:
TD 40+ yards = 9 points
TD 0-39 yards = 6 points
Every 10 yards = 1 point
2 point conversion = 2 points
Each reception = 1 point

Kicking:
FG 50+ yards = 9 points
FG 40+ yards = 6 points
FG 0-39 yards = 3 points
PAT = 1 point

Defense/Special Teams:
Zero Points Scored Against, a "Defensive Shutout" = 10 points
2 to 9 Points Scored Against = 5 points
Defense TD 40+ yards = 9 points
Defense TD 0-39 yards = 6 points
Kick/Punt Return TD 40+ yards = 9 points
Kick/Punt Return TD 0-39 yards = 6 points
Fumble recovery = 2 points
Interception = 2 points
Safety = 2 points
Sack = 1 point

Players DO receive credit for kick/punt return TD's, but NOT for kick/punt return yardage. Scoring is calculated based on TOTAL (NOT average) number of points each player earns in a week. If, for any reason, a player's game is postponed (due to weather, etc.) you will only receive points for that game if you have the player on your roster the day the game is officially completed.

7. DUES

Online Sports Buff dues for Playoff Fantasy Football Elimination Challenge are $24.99 per team or 3 teams for $60.

All Members are eligible if their account is kept current by paying fees on time. If a credit card rejection occurs, Sports Buff Consultants will attempt to correct the situation. If dues are not paid within 30 days, SBFN has the right to terminate your Membership and/or disqualify you from eligibility for prizes.

8. TRADING PLAYERS AND SELECTING A WINNING TEAM

Any of your 9 players/defense may be traded online before or during the first 3 weekends of competition. IMPORTANT: No player trades are allowed after the Week 3 (Conference Championships) deadline. The team you select for the Conference Championships is locked for that week and for the Championship Game or Contest Week 4. A player must be traded for another player at the same position. Players may be traded only if the total salary after the trades does not exceed your current salary cap. Attempts to make trades, which would result in roster salaries above the salary cap, will be rejected.

Players may be traded any day of the week up to the trading deadline of 10 minutes prior to the earliest scheduled kickoff for the players involved in the trade. Any eligible player not listed on the site may be added to contest via your request to a Sports Buff Consultant. Send an email through the web site with name, team, and position and a ruling will be made on their eligibility and position. If the player is added, their salary value will be determined by management and they will be available within two business days of the request.

ELIMINATION - you will select one team to win for each weekend of the contest, including the XL Championship Game February 6th, 2005 (Week 4 of the contest). If you select a team and the team loses, you will not accumulate points that week and that team is eliminated. The following is a summary by week:

Prior to Week 1 - free unlimited trades, select a Winning Team.

Week 1 - accumulate points and advance if your Winning Team selection is correct.

Prior to Week 2 - free unlimited trades, select a Winning Team.

Week 2 - accumulate points and advance if your Winning Team selection is correct.

Prior to Week 3 - free unlimited trades (no trades after this week), select a Winning Team

Week 3 - accumulate points and advance if your Winning Team selection is correct.

Prior to Week 4 - No trades allowed, select a Winning Team.

Week 4 - your team will accumulate points and will be eligible for all end of contest prizes, if your Winning Team selection is correct.

9. END OF CONTEST WINNERS

The winning team will be the team that has accumulated the most points AND has correctly selected 4 winning teams.

End of contest prizes are based on total points. If all teams are eliminated, prizes will be awarded based on total points accumulated. Note that no points are accumulated during the week of elimination.

Tie-Breaking Rules

If a tie exists for end-of-season score, the tie will be broken using the highest weekly score of each Member. If a tie still exists, the second highest weekly score will be used, until the 4th highest weekly score is used, if needed. If a tie still exists, the tie will be broken through the administration of one or more trivia questions relating to professional football, to those who are still involved in the tie.

10. WORK STOPPAGE

In case of a work stoppage - a strike or lock-out - Sports Buff's Playoff Fantasy Football Elimination Challenge will not resume until the regular NFL players return (when the strike or lock-out ends).
